At Pinnacle Montessori at Coit, we believe that every child is capable, curious, and full of potential. Our Primary Montessori Preschool Program, thoughtfully designed for children ages 3 to 6, lays the perfect foundation for academic growth, emotional development, and social confidence.
In this carefully prepared preschool environment, your child will experience the joy of learning in a nurturing space that encourages exploration, independence, and kindness. With guidance from our experienced, Montessori-certified educators, each child is empowered to learn at their own pace and in their own unique way while being supported with care and attention throughout every stage of the journey.
Our Primary classroom, part of our preschool program, is composed of a multi-age group of children ages 3 to 6 — one of the most important features of the Montessori method. This mixed-age setting allows younger children to observe and learn from older peers, while older students develop valuable skills such as leadership, empathy, and mentorship through their interactions.
Over the course of the three-year cycle in our Primary preschool environment, your child will flourish academically, socially, and emotionally — all within a warm, safe, and engaging atmosphere that truly supports their natural love of learning.
Children learn real-world skills like pouring, buttoning, folding, polishing, and more — activities that not only promote independence but also refine fine and gross motor coordination. These foundational tasks help prepare your child for writing, reading, and everyday confidence.
This is where abstract thinking begins. Using Montessori materials that engage all five senses, your child will develop a strong sense of order, comparison, and classification. Concepts like color gradients, sound differentiation, geometric shapes, and temperature are introduced through tactile learning experiences.
Math in Montessori begins with quantity and symbol association, so when your child says “five,” they truly understand what that number represents. We introduce foundational concepts such as place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division through hands-on Montessori materials. As children grow, abstract thinking develops naturally.
Language learning begins with phonetics rather than memorizing letter names. Children build words using the Moveable Alphabet, engage in dictation activities, and work with vocabulary-rich nomenclature cards. Through writing, reading naturally begins to emerge based on each child’s readiness and interests.
Under this area of learning, children explore geography, botany, zoology, history, science, and world cultures. Puzzle maps become tools for discovery as children learn about different regions, traditions, foods, art, and customs. Geography becomes meaningful through engaging exploration and cultural understanding.
Art is not treated as a separate subject — it is woven into daily learning experiences. Whether your child is painting a flower studied in botany or creating artwork inspired by a cultural lesson, creativity is continuously encouraged and celebrated. Every piece of artwork reflects each child’s individuality and imagination.
At Pinnacle Montessori at Coit, we offer more than academics — we help children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for learning. Whether your child is beginning their Montessori journey or preparing for the transition into elementary school, our Primary Program provides the tools needed for success both inside and outside the classroom.
