Montessori Infant Community
(6 Weeks to 13 Months)

A Loving and Nurturing Beginning for Your Child

Our Infant Community is thoughtfully designed to support your child’s earliest stages of growth and development. Created for children ages 6 weeks to 13 months, this warm and inviting environment welcomes both younger babies who are not yet mobile and older infants who are beginning to crawl, cruise, and explore their surroundings.

Filled with natural light, engaging materials, and caring educators, our classroom provides a safe and nurturing space where your child can learn, grow, and thrive. Throughout the day, our specially trained Montessori teachers offer personalized attention, meaningful interactions, and developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and a sense of security.

Supporting the Absorbent Mind

Dr. Maria Montessori described the first years of life as the stage of the “Absorbent Mind,” a remarkable period when children effortlessly absorb information from the world around them. During this time, your child is building the foundation for language, movement, social relationships, and lifelong learning.

Our teachers intentionally engage infants through conversation, songs, stories, finger plays, and daily interactions that enrich language development and strengthen connections. By consistently naming objects, describing experiences, and responding to each child’s cues, we help support communication skills from the very beginning.

Children are also introduced to activities that encourage the development of visual tracking, color recognition, shape exploration, coordination, and early problem-solving skills, all presented at a pace that respects each child’s individual development.

Individualized Care Every Step of the Way

We understand that no two infants are alike. Each child has unique routines, preferences, and developmental milestones. Because of this, our teachers provide individualized care tailored to your child’s specific needs.

Feeding schedules, diapering routines, naps, and transitions are thoughtfully managed according to each infant’s comfort and developmental stage. Our youngest children are held, comforted, and nurtured with the same love and attention they receive at home, helping them build trust and emotional security throughout the day.

Parents can feel confident knowing their child is cared for by educators who understand the importance of responsive caregiving and meaningful relationships during these critical early months.

Encouraging Movement and Exploration

As infants grow and become more mobile, their environment evolves alongside them. Our classroom includes carefully selected materials and equipment that encourage movement, coordination, balance, and exploration.

Children are given opportunities to practice grasping, reaching, crawling, pulling up, cruising, and eventually walking in a safe and supportive environment. Soft climbing structures, push toys, sensory materials, and movement activities help strengthen both fine and gross motor skills while fostering independence and confidence.

For safety and comfort, activity areas are thoughtfully arranged to accommodate children at different developmental stages, ensuring that both mobile and non-mobile infants can explore comfortably.

When the weather permits, children enjoy outdoor strolls and opportunities to experience the natural world. Indoor movement spaces are also available, allowing children to remain active regardless of the season.

Building Relationships from the Very Beginning

Social and emotional development begins long before children can speak. Within our Infant Community, children experience caring relationships with both teachers and peers in a calm, respectful environment.

Through daily interactions, infants begin developing trust, empathy, cooperation, and social awareness. These early experiences lay the groundwork for healthy relationships and positive social skills that will continue to develop throughout childhood.

Our Montessori approach recognizes that every interaction matters. Each moment of care, communication, and connection contributes to your child’s growing sense of confidence and belonging.
