Toddler Program (12-18 months)

Nurturing Independence, Confidence, and Curiosity

The toddler years mark the beginning of mobility, independence, and self-discovery. At Pinnacle  Montessori of Sherman at Dorchester, our Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed to support your

child’s unique personality, growing sense of autonomy, and natural desire to explore the world  around them.

During this exciting—and sometimes challenging—stage, toddlers absorb everything in their  environment at an astonishing pace. However, their ability to express what they see and feel may  still be developing. This can lead to frustration, confusion, or emotional outbursts. That’s why our  experienced teachers provide consistent daily routines that build familiarity and comfort, helping  your child feel safe and supported while learning.

Did you know a two-year-old uses 75% more brain power than an adult? That’s why toddlers are  naturally eager to do things on their own. Our teachers gently encourage this independence while  understanding that social skills like sharing and personal space are still developing. Through simple  one- and two-step instructions, songs, visual cues, and positive reinforcement, we guide toddlers  toward self-control and cooperation—at a pace that’s right for them.

Our toddler classrooms are a natural extension of your home:

warm, welcoming, and full of learning opportunities. In this nurturing environment, your child will practice essential life skills such as:

  • Using indoor voices
  • Walking together as a group
  • Gently taking and returning materials from shelves

Every item on our Montessori shelves is a purposeful learning tool designed to support physical, cognitive, and emotional development. Some examples include:

  • Large-piece puzzles to strengthen problem-solving and fine motor skills
  • Bowls and spoons to encourage independent eating
  • Dress-up clothes and mirrors for imaginative play and self-awareness
  • Locks and latches to build coordination and focus
  • Art materials to foster creativity and self-expression

Toddlers may be one of the most dynamic and demanding age groups, but they are also among the  most rewarding. At Pinnacle Montessori of Sherman at Dorchester, we cherish the joy of witnessing  their “aha” moments as they master new skills and discover their capabilities. Our mission is to  provide a secure, enriching, and loving environment that inspires confidence and fuels a lifelong love  for learning
