A Loving Beginning for Your Infant’s First Year

At Pinnacle Montessori of Sherman at Dorchester, we welcome your baby into a calm, nurturing environment designed around the needs of early development. Our Infant Program provides attentive care, comforting routines, and age-appropriate experiences that support your child’s growth from the very beginning.

During the first year, babies learn through movement, observation, sound, touch, and responsive interactions. Our thoughtfully prepared environment gives infants safe opportunities to notice new sights, listen to language, explore different textures, and gradually discover the world around them.

Supporting Communication and Emotional Security

Long before babies begin speaking, they communicate through facial expressions, movements, sounds, and gestures. Our teachers pay close attention to these signals and respond with warmth, patience, and reassurance.

Frequent conversations, songs, stories, and object-naming experiences introduce infants to the rhythm and meaning of language. Consistent interactions also help babies develop trust, emotional security, and positive connections with the adults caring for them.

Encouraging Motor Development and Body Awareness

Infants develop physical abilities at different rates. Our teachers provide supervised opportunities for movement based on each child’s readiness. Babies may practice reaching, grasping, rolling, sitting, crawling, pulling up, or taking early steps without pressure to reach milestones before they are ready.

Tracking moving objects helps strengthen visual focus and coordination. Mirrors allow babies to observe faces, expressions, and body movements. Simple activities involving their hands and feet encourage body awareness, while grasping, stacking, and releasing objects support fine motor development and early coordination.

Gentle Opportunities for Social Discovery

Even at this young age, infants begin noticing and responding to other children. They may watch a nearby baby, exchange smiles, imitate sounds, or become curious about another child’s movements. These gentle shared experiences introduce early social awareness while respecting each baby’s need for personal space and individual attention.

Individualized Care for Every Infant

Every baby follows a unique developmental path. Our teachers observe each infant carefully and select experiences that reflect their abilities, interests, temperament, and pace of growth. This individualized approach allows babies to explore comfortably while receiving the encouragement and support they need.

Whenever possible, we follow familiar home routines for feeding, napping, and diapering to create consistency between home and school. These predictable care routines help infants feel secure and make daily transitions more comfortable.

Families also receive daily updates about feeding, rest, diaper changes, activities, and developing milestones. This open communication keeps parents informed and helps us provide consistent, responsive care.

A Partnership Built Around Your Baby

We understand the trust involved in choosing care for your infant. At Pinnacle Montessori of Sherman at Dorchester, we are honored to support your family during this meaningful first year.

Our Infant Program provides a peaceful and loving beginning where babies can feel safe, form trusting relationships, explore their surroundings, and build an early foundation for continued growth and learning.
