Stuck At Home? No Problem
What a time of change for us all. As I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by surprise. You may find yourself at home with your little ones, anxious to ensure they’re entertained and educated despite school closings nationwide. Here’s a few tricks to help your kids (and you) enjoy this newfound opportunity for togetherness:
- Educational Coloring. It feels like too easy of a solution, and that’s what’s so great about it! Educational coloring sheets, such as color by number pages, can help young children keep their brains active while keeping the household calm & collected.
- Create a routine. Structure helps developing minds stay focused, and with all this change it’s natural for your little one to feel uneasy as well. A routine while at home (ideally, one that mirrors what they do in school as much as possible) will help keep normalcy in the day for you and them.
- Create a routine, but take breaks from it! As much as we feel fear and uncertainty in these new times, there’s a silver lining in the form of family time. With a busy, fast-paced world, how often do we get to slow down and smell the roses? Take this time to create art, read books, share stories, and spread love. Times of togetherness such as this one come far too rarely, albeit in unforeseen circumstances.
Change can feel exciting, scary, and unknown all at once, and children have less understanding of why they are suddenly at home. Creating distractions, keeping normalcy, and spending time together are ways to help children keep their calm in these uncertain times. Thankfully, Pinnacle Montessori is here to help. Our schools are well equipped to keep your children as happy as ever, no matter what life throws our way.
