Montessori after-school care provides children with the freedom to explore their passions and pursue activities that genuinely interest them, including sports, musical instruments, theater, and more. We create individualized learning experiences for each student, incorporating their unique interests into our curriculum while allowing them to progress at a pace that is comfortable and meaningful for them.
Our Montessori teachers actively engage with children by verbalizing and naming the environment around them. Dr. Maria Montessori taught that young children are in a developmental stage known as the Absorbent Mind, meaning they absorb information from their surroundings at a rate that will never again be matched throughout their lives. This remarkable stage of development continues until approximately six years of age. It is one of the reasons children naturally acquire their native language without formal language instruction.
Children also participate in activities that support the development of gross motor skills, color recognition, shape matching, and early cognitive abilities. Through songs, finger plays, story time, and hands-on experiences, younger children are introduced to many of the same enriching activities as the older children, but in ways that are appropriate for their individual developmental levels.
We encourage participation in music, movement, dance, sports, and yoga. Since learning and movement are neurologically connected, one of the most effective ways to teach children is to allow them to move freely within a safe environment while introducing new experiences and concepts in familiar and engaging ways.
